Nine months, one day, an hour and 39 minutes after we were married, Randy was born. Some of the old aunts were counting backwards on their fingers, but to no avail - it was all legit!
We are truly blessed to have three wonderful kids. They are all grown now, and “self-sustaining”. We enjoy seeing them when we can get together around their busy schedules (sports, school activities etc.). They don’t know it yet, but we are looking forward to having them take care of us when we get old.
Here is a little about them in "age order."
Randy Willey is a CPA and Comptroller for the Dental College at the University of Nebnraska, :Linco;ln.. He is married to our Daughter-in-Law Angie (John). The marriage gave us three Grand kids, John, Noah, and Ben. All are very involved in the kids school activities.
Angie is involved in volunteer work with Down Syndrome. They live on an acreage outside of Elmwood, NE.
Pamela Willey graduated from Lincoln East High School in Lincoln, NE where she starred in track and held the State record for nearly 20 years in the mile run (1600 meters) with a time of 4.59. She has a Bachelor's and a Masters Degree in Education. She has been a High School English teacher in Minneapolis (Eden Prairie) Minnesota since 1988 She has retired from teaching, and presently lives in Amery, WI.
Steve Willey graduated from UNL with a bachelors degree in Engineering. He is a Construction Engineer Manager with McCarthy Construction in Omaha, NE.
He is married to our Daughter-in-Law Shannon (Francis). Shannon has a degree in Biology from UNL. Their marriage gave us two more Grand Kids, Emma and Sam. They live in Gretna, NE (basically a suburb of Omaha).
Our other 'Daughter' Rylie Willey was a lovable Miniature Dachshund, who ruled our life (but we didn’t mind). She came to us in 2008 when she was 2 years old, from a co-worker of Alyce Rae’s who no longer was able to care for her.
Unfortunately we lost Rylie to Cushing's disease in August of 2019. Our hope was always to live long enough to be the kind of people Rylie thought we were!
Rylie had some interesting insights on her life. We called them RYLIE-ISMS.
But, enough about OUR Kids ... Read About Our GrandKids!
